Ccrumic refers to all fircd products incl uding pou ery,
hrick. and tile that is primarily composed of clay with different
iJlllo unts of o ther materia ls thaI have a source from soil and
when they lired .produced a hard material. Firing the clay body
to the hanJness of ceramic hody is the next critical stage in
manufm:turing.
To de termine the firing te mperatu re. four lired (450, 600.

usmg XR 0 and STA methods. and then an unidentified tiring
