: توده گابروی کنگره در جنوب استان کردستان و جنوب غربی منطقه قروه واقع است. این منطقه جزو پهنه سنندج - سیرجان به حساب می­آید. دگرگونی­های زمین­ساختی طی مزوزوئیک و فعالیت­های ماگمایی صورت گرفته در نتیجه فرورانش سنگ­کره اقیانوسی نئوتتیس به زیر صفحه ایران، سبب تشکیل سنگ­های آذرین مختلفی در این منطقه شده است. نتایج بررسی­های زمین­شیمیایی کانی پیروکسن و سنگ کل نشان می­دهند که این توده دارای طبیعت شبه­رخشانی بوده و به سری ماگمایی تولئیتی تا آهکی-قلیایی تعلق دارد. نمونه­های مورد بررسی دارای ویژگی­های زمین­شیمیایی سنگ­های آذرین فرورانشی مانند ناهنجاری منفی عناصر Nb، P، Ti و Zr و ناهنجاری مثبت عناصر Rb، Sr و Eu هستند. نتایج این پژوهش هم­چنین نشان می­دهد که توده گابروی کنگره در موقعیت زمین­ساختی جزیره کمانی شکل گرفته است. بر این اساس می­توان نتیجه گرفت که طی دوران مزوزوئیک در مجاورت کرانه قاره­ای­ ایران (پهنه سنندج-سیرجان) جزایر کمانی حضور داشته­اند که پس از بسته­شدن اقیانوس نئوتتیس به کرانه قاره ایران (منطقه قروه) پیوسته­اند.
