کانسار اسکارن آهن دردوی در بخش مرکزی منطقه معدنی سنگان در شمال شرق ایران واقع شده است. در این پژوهش،  دمای تشکیل پهنه­های اسکارنی آن با استفاده از برخی زمین­دماسنج­ها برآورد شده است. مهمترین­ کانی­های دگرگونی در پهنه­های اسکارنی پیشرونده و پسرونده شامل گارنت، کلینوپیروکسن، ترمولیت-اکتینولیت، آمفیبول، کلریت، اپیدوت، فلدسپار، فلوگوپیت و دولومیت هستند. زمین­دماسنج دوفلدسپار نشان داد که پهنه درون­اسکارن در گرانیت سرنوسر در دماهای بین 635 تا 725 درجه سانتیگراد تشکیل شده که با دماهای بدست آمده از میانبارهای سیال همخوانی ندارد. بر اساس زمین­دماسنج گارنت-کلینوپیروکسن، دماهای 300 تا 505 درجه سانتیگراد برای دگرگونی اسکارن پیشرونده بدست آمد. زمین­دماسنج کلریت و آمفیبول کلسیمی در پهنه پسرونده به ترتیب دماهای تشکیل بین 200 تا 290 و 200 تا 300 درجه سانتیگراد را نشان داد. نتایج زمین­دماسنج پهنه­های اسکارنی پیشرونده و پسرونده با نتایج سیال­های درگیر همخوانی دارند. دماهای بدست آمده از میانبارهای سیال و زمین­دماسنج پهنه­های اسکارن پیشرونده و پسرونده نشان داد که دماهای تشکیل اسکارن دگرگونی مجاورتی کمتر از 600 درجه سانتیگراد است که با رخساره دگرگونی هورنبلند-هورنفلس همخوانی دارد.
