بخش شمال­غربی مجموعه­ی آتشفشانی- رسوبی کوه دوازده امام، در شمال ایران مرکزی و در 135 کیلومتری جنوب شرق تهران واقع است. گدازه­ها و دایک­های حدّواسط­- بازی و بیشتر بازی ائوسن و الیگوسن این مجموعه در اثر سیّال­های ­گرمابی، احتمالاً همراه با مشارکت آب­های جوّی دستخوش درجات مختلفی از دگرسانی شده­اند. این دگرسانی­ها در دو مرحله سبب تشکیل زئولیت و دیگر کانی­های ثانویه گردیده است. فعّالیّت سیّال گرمابی در مرحله­ی نخست، سبب ته­نشینی فیلوسیلیکات­های مافیک (سلادونیت، لایه­های ترکیبی سلادونیت- نانترونیت، اسمکتیت)، کلسیت و زئولیت­های سدیمی (آنالسیم، تتراناترولیت، ناترولیت و شابازیت­- Ca) شده است؛ در مرحله­ی دوّم، فعّالیّت سیّال­های گرمابی احتمالاً همراه با مشارکت آب جوّی شرایط را جهت شکل­گیری زئولیت­های کلسیمی-­ سدیمی و در نتیجه نهشته شدن استیلبیت­- Ca، مزولیت و تامسونیت فراهم کرده است. تغییر در دما، pH، مقادیر CO2 و H2O، نسبت Si/Al و نوع سنگ بستر، عواملی هستند که سبب تنوّع کانی­زایی طیّ این دو مرحله شده­اند. بالاترین و پایین­ترین دمای زئولیت­زایی مرحله­ی نخست را می­توان حدود °C 145 برای آنالسیم و °C 90 برای شابازیت­- Ca و برای مرحله­ی دوّم، حدود  °C75 برای استیلبیت­- Ca و °C 65 برای تامسونیت در نظر گرفت.
