منطقه مورد بررسی در استان همدان و در همسایگی ژرف توده الوند در پهنه سنندج- سیرجان قرار دارد. در همسایگی این توده انواع سنگ­های دگرگونی مجاورتی و ناحیه­ای از درجه پائین تا بالا وجود دارد که شامل انواع شیست­ها، هورنفلس­ها و میگماتیت­هاست. گرچه سنگ­های کیانیت­دار از نظر وسعت، مجموعه سنگی عمده­ای را تشکیل نمی­دهند اما به صورت­های گوناگون (هورنفلس، میگماتیت، رگه­­های کوارتز-کیانیت) برونزد دارند. کیانیت در این سنگ­ها همراه با کانی­های دیگر دگرگونی از جمله آندالوزیت، سیلیمانیت، استارولیت و گاهی کردیریت به همراه زمینه­ای از بیوتیت، مسکویت، کوارتز و گاهی پلاژیوکلاز یافت می­شود. کیانیت­های منطقه همدان را می­توان از نظر چگونگی تشکیل به سه دسته اصلی تقسیم کرد: 1- کیانیت­های موجود در متن سنگ، 2- کیانیت­های رشد یافته در قالب پورفیروبلاست­های آندالوزیت و 3- کیانیت­های تبلور یافته در رگه­های آلومینوسیلیکات­دار. از آنجاکه رشد همزمان سه­تایی یا دوتایی آلومینوسیلیکات­ها در مقاطع نازک دیده نمی­شود، می­توان گفت که آلومینوسیلیکات­ها در وقایع دگرگونی مختلف و در چند نوبت شکل گرفته­اند. دگرگونی ناحیه­ای منطقه بیشتر به نوع بوچان شباهت دارد، اما اضافه شدن کیانیت به مجموعه کانی­شناسی سنگ­ها در بعضی نقاط، مجموعه دگرگونی را متمایل به نوع بارووین کرده است. ترکیب گارنت­های موجود در سنگ­های مورد بررسی بیشتر در قطب آلماندن-اسپسارتین، ترکیب بیوتیت­ها در محدوده­ی سیدروفیلیت و ترکیب پلاژیوکلاز از نوع آندزین است و استارولیت­های منطقه دارای ترکیبی غنی از آهن هستند. بر اساس دماسنجی با استفاده از تک کانی بیوتیت، بیوتیت‌های موجود در مزوسوم میگماتیت‌ها و هورنفلس­های کیانیت­دار دره سیمین به ترتیب میانگین دمایی در حدود 633 و 587 درجه سانتی­گراد و بیوتیت­های موجود در هورنفلس­های­ کیانیت­دار مریانج، دمای 483 درجه سانتی­گراد را نشان می­دهند. بر اساس دماسنجی به روش تبادل کاتیونی زوج کانی گارنت- بیوتیت، میانگین دمای هورنفلس­های کیانیت­دار منطقه مریانج در حدود 524 درجه سانتی­گراد و میانگین دمای میگماتیت‌ها و هورنفلس­های کیانیت­دار دره سیمین به ترتیب در حدود 618 و 580 درجه سانتی­گراد محاسبه شد. در فشارسنجی با استفاده از سامانه­های GPBQ و GASP فشار میگماتیت­ها­ی کیانیت­دار به ترتیب در حدود 8/3 و 1/4 کیلو بار برآورد می­شود.
