1- Authors must prepare their article based on the “Guide for Writing and Formatting the Article” (see the “For Authors” section) and upload it along with the Commitment and agreement letter for paper publication and the Conflictst Of Interest Form, and also, in accordance with the “Registration and Article Submission” section on the journal website.
2- After registration on the website, the article will be reviewed to ensure items such as compliance with the journal’s writing style guide, completeness of components, and accuracy of author information have been observed.
3- After structural approval, the editor-in-chief and the editorial board will review the article, and if it matches the journal’s policies—such as topic relevance, research originality, and other matters—it will be sent to 3 reviewers; the maximum review time in the editorial board is 10 days and in peer review is 30 days.
4- Review in this journal is single-blind. In all stages of article review, authors will not be informed of the reviewers’ names—but reviewers will be aware of the authors’ names.
In the review process, the article is initially reviewed by two expert reviewers in the relevant field. If both reviewers approve the article at this stage, it will be accepted. The identical opinion of both reviewers is necessary to determine the article’s status. If the two reviewers do not agree on the acceptance of the article (one approves the article and the other rejects it), the article will be sent to a third reviewer. Before sending to the third reviewer, the author will be asked to apply the corrective comments of the two previous reviewers to the article, and then the revised version will be sent to the third reviewer. The opinion of the third reviewer determines the acceptance or rejection of the article. If two reviewers approve and then the final approval of the editorial board is obtained, the article will be publishable and the author must send the final version of the article along with the other necessary documents for publication.
The reviewers’ opinion on the article will be expressed in one of the following four cases:
Acceptable in its current form
Acceptable after minor revisions
Acceptable after major and structural changes
Not publishable
Note: In cases where the author does not accept all or part of the reviewers’ comments or has a convincing answer for the raised criticisms of the article, they can declare their opinions and reasons in a text titled “Response to Reviewers” in their personal page on the journal website, in the section for adding files to the journal office. This response will be reviewed by the editorial board and article reviewers, and the result will be communicated to the author.
5- After review, the editor summarizes the reviewers’ opinions, the results are reviewed in the editorial board and a decision is made; if the article needs revision, the reviewers’ comments will be sent to the author. The author must implement the corrective comments within a maximum of 40 days and return the article; if the article is not accepted, the result will be communicated to the author.
6- The author applies the requested revisions and returns it. After that, the article will again be discussed in the editorial board and a decision will be made about it; if accepted, the article proceeds to the editing and layout stage, and if not, the author will be informed.
7- After editing and layout, the author must pay 30% of the article publication cost so the article will be placed in the publication queue.
8- All articles after formatting will be sent to the corresponding author so that, if needed, the final revision can be made. No article will be published without final approval.
According to the resolution of the Board of Directors of the “Iranian Crystallography and Mineralogy Association,” this journal does not charge any fees for the article review process. However, the corresponding author must commit that in case of article acceptance, before the issuance of the acceptance letter, for each formatted page, an amount equal to 30% of the publication cost (eight hundred thousand rials: 800,000 Rials) must be deposited into the account of the Association.
1- All correspondence is done with the corresponding author. Following up all matters related to review stages and results, editing time, publication cost, is done only by the corresponding author of the article.
2- Authors can track the status of the submitted article through the journal website.
