Publicatin Ethics

The ethics of this journal is based on the guidelines of the "committee on publication ethics" (COPE) and the principles of "The Charter and Regulations of Research Ethics" enacted by the research and technology deputy of the ministry of science, research and technology of Iran. Though the membership of IJCM to COPE has not yet been finalized, the journal editorial board has general supervision over the entire publication process, and the authors, the journal reviewers and the editor in-chief are obliged to consider these ethical principles.

Journal responsibilities
1- The decision on accepting or declining articles for publication in this journal is based on the professional evaluation, and personal decisions and interests are not interfered.
2- The evaluation criteria for reviewing the submitted papers are the novelty, scientific quality and correctness, as well as the writing style.
3- The journal is guaranteed to protect the authors' personal information.  
4- All the submitted papers are checked for scientific theft, plagiarism or any scientific misconduct.
5- If the occurrence of any deviation from the ethical principles is confirmed at any stages of the paper submission, review or publication, the journal has the right to act the author(s) according to the law.
6- The journal guarantees the quick and detailed response and the fast publication services.

Editor in-chief, editorial board and reviewers responsibilities
1- The editor in-chief and the editorial board have the authority of accepting or declining a paper and they are responsible for the general quality of the published paper.
2- The editor in-chief and the editorial board should offer some procedures to improve the papers quality and put them in practice.
3- The novelty, the scientific quality and the correctness of a submitted paper, as well as the appropriateness within the scope of the journal should be the only evaluation criteria for being accepted or declined for the publication.
4- The editor in-chief, the editorial board and the reviewers decide whether a paper will be accepted for publication in the journal or not.
5- The editor in-chief and the editorial board should consider the scientific/data protection and try to obviate the scientific requirements of the journal readers.
6- The editor in-chief and the editorial board identify the one(s) responsible for any probable plagiarism or scientific misconduct, and do the necessary action, say revisions, clarifications and legal proceedings, if needed.
7- The editor in-chief and the editorial board should keep all the information in the paper confidential and not reveal to or discuss with others, except for the authors and the reviewers.
8- Before the papers get published, the editor in-chief, the editorial board and the reviewers have no right to use their data or new concepts for personal destinations.
9- The peer-review process is done as soon as possible, and the reviewers let the editor to know their comments on a variety of aspects such as the novelty, and it is the editor's task to decide whether a manuscript will be accepted, revised or rejected.
10- The reviewer's comments and recommendations on the submitted paper should be informed to the authors and the editor in-chief through the structured reviewer form.
11- The reviewers are expected to report the scientific theft, including the overlapping content with another document to the editor in-chief, so the editorial board can make the final decision on its acceptance or rejection.
12- The referee’s comments on the reviewing paper should be scientific and professional.
 
 Authors’ responsibilities
1- The authors need to self-declare the originality of the paper in a cover letter to the journal editor. They also declare that the work has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
2- The submitted papers should be written in good Farsi.
3- The submitted papers should not be published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
4- The corresponding author designated by all other co-authors is responsible for all the correspondence at any stage of post-submission.
5- As the authors find any error or inaccuracy in the submitted paper, they should inform the journal editor as soon as possible, try to correct it, or withdraw the article.
6- The authors should resubmit the revised manuscript until two weeks from receiving the reviewer(s) comments.
7- The authors must disclose and acknowledge any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations. They also should declare the conflict of interests, if any.
8- The authors have no right to withdraw the paper after it has been reviewed.
9- Any significant changes to the accepted paper will only be considered as the authors provide the appropriate reasons.
10. All the editorial board and authors should make any correction truly and completely.
  
Confronting the scientific misconduct
1. All the ethical principles defined by the committee on publication ethics (COPE) should be applied by the editorial board members, the reviewers and the authors.
2. Upon observing a "publication and research misconduct” case, including fabrication of data, plagiarism and scientific theft, after careful examination by the editorial board, the journal reserves its right to stop the review process, report the authors names to be blacklisted in the "committee on publication ethics" (COPE), and be legally acted.
