منطقه مورد بررسی کمر-گوو، در جنوب شهرستان هشتجین، در استان اردبیل (شمالغرب ایران) واقع است. واحدهای زمین­شناسی منطقه شامل گدازه­ها (با ترکیب تراکی آندزیت بازالتی تا ریولیتی)، نفوذی­های نیمه عمیق (به شکل دایک و استوک با ترکیب تراکی آندزیت و تراکیت پورفیری) و بلوری، توف شیشه­ای یا سنگی (با ترکیب حدواسط و اسیدی) هستند. پهنه­های وسیع دگرسانی­های سیلیسی، سریسیتی-آرژیلیکی، آرژیلیک پیشرفته و کلریتی در این سنگ­ها گسترده شده­اند. پیریت کانی فلزی رایج در منطقه بوده که تقریباً در همه واحدهای سنگی گسترش یافته است. افزون بر پیریت، کالکوپیریت، کالکوسیت، گالن، اسفالریت، مگنتیت و هماتیت نیز وجود دارند. کانه­های برونزاد شامل کوولیت، دیژنیت و گوتیت هستند. کانه­ها به شکل رگچه، افشان، افشان-لایه­ای و درون رگه-رگچه­های سیلیسی در بلور، توف­های تراکی آندزیتی شیشه­ای و ریولیت­ تشکیل شده­اند. در کانی­های کوارتز درون رگه­های سیلیسی دارای کانی­سازی فلزی و همراه با کانی­سازی فلزی افشان در متن سنگ، سه نوع میانبار سیال اولیه شامل دو فازی غنی از مایع، دو فازی غنی از بخار و سه فازی اشباع از نمک (فازهای مایع، بخار و هالیت + سیلویت) وجود دارند. ریز دماسنجی این میانبارها، گستره شوری در میانبارهای سیال غنی از مایع را 05/1 تا 14 درصد وزنی معادل نمک طعام و بیشترین فراوانی دماهای همگن شدن فازی را  از 200 تا 300 درجه نشان می­دهد. نوع کانه­سازی در منطقه بر اساس ویژگی­هایی چون شکل رگه­- رگچه­ای کانی­سازی، گسترش بافت­های نواربندی متقارن و گل کلمی، رخداد کانی­سازی فلزهای پایه، وجود مجموعه کانیایی کائولینیت- موسکویت – پیریت ± اسفالریت، شوری و دمای متوسط سیال کانه­ساز و اثر احتمالی فرآیند جوشش، شبیه کانسارهای فراگرمایی سولفیدشدگی حدواسط است.
