منطقه­­ پی­جویی سرب- روی- مس فریزی در شمال غرب مشهد، در استان خراسان رضوی واقع است. کانی­سازی به شکل رگه­ای در سنگ میزبان اسلیت با میان لایه­های فیلیت و ماسه سنگ­کم­دگرگون شده تریاس پسین- ژوراسیک پیشین (معادل سازند شمشک) تشکیل شده است. تنها دگرسانی سنگ میزبان سیلیسی­شدن است. کانی­سازی اولیه کوارتز، گالن، کالکوپیریت، پیریت و کانی­های ثانویه هماتیت، گوتیت، لیمونیت، کوولیت، مالاکیت و آزوریت است. مقدار سرب در رگه­ها تا %7/3، روی تا %6/1، مس تا %4 و نقره تا %0183/0 است. اندازه­گیری­های ریز­­دماسنجی در سیال­های درگیر دو­فازی (مایع و بخار) نشان می­دهد که کوارتز و کانه­ها از یک سیال با دمای متوسط تا بالا (200 تا 347 درجه سانتیگراد) و شوری نسبتاً بالا (2/20 تا 35/22 درصد وزنی) که احتمالاً آب دگرگونی است، ریشه گرفته است. کاهش دما مهمترین نقش را در کانی­سازی سرب- روی- مس داشته است. داده­های مقاومت ویژه الکتریکی/ قطبشی القایی (IP/RS) در محل پهنه­های گوسان، رگه­ها، کنده­کاری­های قدیمی و ناهنجاری­های زمین­شیمی، افزایش بارپذیری را نشان می­دهد. سه بخش (A, B, C) کانی­سازی در منطقه وجود دارد. بخشB  از نظر کانی­سازی، ناهنجاری زمین­شیمی و بار­پذیری نسبت به  Aو C دارای اهمیت بیشتری است. بررسی مغزه­های حفاری بر ناهنجاری بالای شبه مقطع IP/RS در بخش B، وجود ذغال گرافیتی در سنگ میزبان را تایید کرد که منبع ایجاد کننده ناهنجاری است. بر اساس زمین­شناسی، کانی­سازی و ویژگی سیال­های درگیر، نوع کانی­سازی فریزی رگه­ای نوع کوهزایی است. خاستگاه فلزات کانه­ساز در منطقه فریزی احتمالاً همان لایه­های غنی از گرافیت بوده و طی فاز کوهزایی ژوراسیک میانی- سیمرین میانی، توسط آب­های دگرگونی حمل شده و در فضا­های ساختاری مناسب بر­جای گذاشته شده است.
