منطقه کانی­زایی طلای میاردان در 15 کیلومتری غرب شهرستان بستان آباد در استان آذربایجان شرقی واقع است. واحدهای سنگی عمده منطقه شامل توف و گدازه های آندزیتی وابسته به ائوسن بوده که میزبان کانی­سازی رگه­ای طلا هستند. کانه­زایی طلا در درون سنگ­های آندزیتی دگرسان،خرد شده و برشی شده به سن ائوسن دربرخوردگاه با استوک دیوریت پورفیری شکل گرفته است. این سنگ­ها توسط محلول­های گرمابی دستخوش دگرسانی سیلیسی و سریسیتی شده­ و در اثر فرآیند دگرنهادی ناشی از تزریق توده نفوذی، به کوارتزیت و هورنفلس تبدیل شده­اند. کانه­سازی طلا در این واحدها به شکل پهنه­های سیلیسی و رگه­های کوارتزی دارای سولفید با راستا 300 تا 320 درجه شمال غربی و باشیب نزدیک به عمود  صورت گرفته است. نمودارهای عنکبوتی عناصر خاکی نادر بهنجار شده نسبت به کندریت و گوشته اولیه نشان دهنده جدایش عناصر خاکی نادر سبک (LREE) از عناصر خاکی نادر سنگین (HREE) و غنی­شدگی LREE ها و عناصر سنگ دوست یون (LILE) است. شاخص­های زمین شیمیایی مانند Ti+Fe و Ce+Y+La)-(Ba+Sr)) نشان می­دهند که محلول­های گرمابی برون­زاد نقش بسیار مهمی در گسترش پهنه های دگرسانی و کانه­زایی در این منطقه داشته­اند.
