منطقه چهار دهنه در جنوب شرق ایران بخشی از افیولیت­های مزوزوئیک کمربند کوهزایی آلپ-هیمالایاست که در جنوب غربی کرانه پهنه فرورانش مکران قرار دارد. چهار­دهنه شامل سه بخش سنگ شناسی عدسی­های دونیتی ، هارزبورژیت و لرزولیت است. اسپینل موجود در دونیت­ها و لرزولیت­ها از نوع پالئونست آهن­دار است. اسپینل موجود در لرزولیت­ها با غنی شدگی از Al3+ نسبت به Fe3+ بیانگر تبلور آنها در گریزندگی اکسیژن کمتر و فشار بیشتری نسبت به اسپینل­های دونیت­­ها­ هستند. الیوین­های دونیت و لرزولیت­ها از نوع فورستریت با Mg# برابر با 88-91 است. برپایه شیمی کانی کلینوپیروکسن در هارزبورژیت­ها، این کانی از یک ماگما با آب 10 درصد و در فشار 5 کیلوبار در دمای Cه 1100 -1200 متبلور شده است. پریدوتیت­های چهاردهنه از نوع ابرفرورانش وابسته به یک گوشته دگرنهاده در محیط کششی پشت قوس هستند.
