 گابروهای همسانگرد افیولیت کرمانشاه شامل طیفی از گابرو، الیوین گابرو، گابرو نوریت، الیوین گابرو نوریت و تروکتولیت هستند که بیشتر متوسط­بلور هستند و از کلینوپیروکسن، پلاژیوکلاز، ارتوپیروکسن، الیوین و به مقادیر کم آمفیبول تشکیل شده­اند. کلینوپیروکسن­ها با ترکیب اوژیت ـ دیوپسید ((91/50-79/45)En، (409/7-638/3) Fsو (47/48-81/43)) Woغنی از کلسیم و فقیر از سدیم (Na2O کمتر از 54/0 درصد وزنی)، با مقدار نسبتاً بالای Mg# (62/85 تا 35/89) و اندک Ti (TiO2 کمتر از 28/0 درصد وزنی) مشخص می­شوند. پلاژیوکلازها بیشتر از نوع بیتونیتی هستند و ترکیب آنها از آنورتیت غنی است ((15/90-51/70) An، (02/29-62/9) Ab و (63/0-00/0)Or). مؤلفه فورستریتی الیوین­ها در گستره 82/84-07/80 تغییر می­کند. اغلب ارتوپیروکسن­ها ترکیب انستاتیتی دارند و گستره ترکیبی آنها ( (94/84-27/78) En، (07/20-0/13) Fs و (36/3-43/1)Wo) است. آمفیبول­ها از منیزیم غنی هستند (ترمولیت، اکتینولیت و منیزیوهورنبلند) و Mg# آنها در گستره 35/64 تا 86/84 تغییر می­کند. وجود الیوین­ها و پیروکسن­های با منیزیم بالا، پلاژیوکلازهای کلسیک و نیز وجود کانی آمفیبول در گابروها نشان دهنده تشکیل آنها در محیط زمین­ساختی مربوط به فرورانش است. نمودارهای تعیین خاستگاه زمین­ساختی کلینوپیروکسن­ها، ویژگی­های شاخص جزایر کمانی خاستگاه ماگما را نشان می­دهند. براساس نتایج، افیولیت کرمانشاه در محیط پهنه ابرفرورانشی در شاخه جنوبی نئوتتیس تشکیل شده است.
