کانسار اسکارنی عشوند نهاوند در 10 کیلومتری شرق شهر نهاوند و در پهنه ساختاری سنندج- سیرجان واقع است. گارنت‌ با ترکیب گراسولار-آندرادیت فراوانترین کانی پهنه اسکارنی است که ترکیب آنها در گسترهAdr(%45.9 – 67.2) Gro(%31.8 – 50.1) Sps(%0.3 – 1.8) Prp(%0.6 – 2.5) قرار دارد. داده‌های بلورشیمی نشان دهنده کاهش مقدار آندرادیت و افزایش کانی‌های گروه پیرالسپیت از مرکز به ‌سمت لبه بلورهای گارنت است. افزون بر این، افزایش جانشینی Al با Fe+3 از مرکز به سمت لبه بلورهای گارنت نشانگر افزایش مقدار گریزندگی اکسیژن طی رشد بلورهای گارنت است. پیروکسن دومین کانی فراوان پهنه اسکارنی است و ترکیب همگن‌تری نسبت به گارنت از خود نشان می‌دهد. ترکیب عمده پیروکسن‌های این کانسار را گستره هدنبرژیت تا دیوپسید با ترکیب Fs(%30.6 – 41.2) En(%9.5 – 26.6) Wo(%42.8 – 49.3) تشکیل می‌دهند که دارای نرخ متوسطی از نسبت Fe/(Fe+Mg) در گستره 53/0 تا 81/0 هستند. بررسی های دما - فشارسنجی نشانگر تشکیل بخش پیشرونده اسکارن در فشار 1 تا 2 کیلوبار و دمای بیشینه حدود 600 درجه سانتی‌گراد، XCO2 کمتر از 2/0، عمق تشکیل حدود 5 کیلومتری و گریزندگی اکسیژن 16- تا 27- است. نتایج تجزیه نقطه‌ای گارنت‌ها و پیروکسن‌های پهنه اسکارنی گویای قرارگیری ترکیب آنها در گستره اسکارن‌های نوع آهن، طلا و مس است.
